Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating an overnight collision between two vehicles that sent one person to hospital with critical injuries.

On September 18, 2026, shortly after 8:00 pm, SPS Frontline officers responded to a request from BC EHS to attend a serious collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of 176 Street and 32 Avenue, Surrey. 

Officers arrived and located the driver of one vehicle, a Honda Civic, that was significantly damaged and provided emergency medical treatment until Surrey Fire Service and BC EHS paramedics arrived on scene. SPS officers also located the driver of the second vehicle, a semi-truck with loaded trailer that had minor front end damage, who did not appear to have injuries. The driver of the Honda Civic, an adult female and the sole occupant of the vehicle, was transported to hospital with critical injuries.

SPS’s Collision Investigation Unit was called in and has taken over the lead on the investigation. While the investigation is in its early stages, alcohol is not believed to be a contributing factor. Parts of the intersection were closed for several hours during the night but have since reopened.
