Surrey Police Service (SPS) Frontline members have arrested an armed man on an outstanding warrant for robbery.

On July 16, 2025, police were called to the area of 151 Street and 56 Avenue, Surrey, regarding a robbery. Upon arrival, SPS members spoke with a 59-year-old female victim who advised that a man had approached her in a parking lot and tore her purse off her shoulder and fled. Bystanders managed to detain the man, and he was subsequently arrested by police. The man was eventually released with conditions.

On September 17, 2025, the 26-year-old accused, Jaskaran Dhaliwal, failed to appear in court in relation to that robbery charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On September 18, 2025, SPS members became aware through social media of a male brandishing a knife near City Parkway and 102 Avenue, Surrey. Police located and arrested Jaskaran Dhaliwal on the outstanding warrant. Additional charges are also being considered. He is currently in custody pending a bail hearing.
