Special Event Permits

Special Event Permits must be submitted to the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch at least 14 days prior to the event. Many of these permit requests also require review by police, to ensure the safety of event participants.

Once Surrey Police Service receives your application from the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch, we will process it as quickly as practical. Please note that we receive an especially high volume of applications in the summer months, and evaluate them by event date. As such, your permit may not be finalized until 1-2 days before your event. Your patience and understanding is appreciated. 

While Surrey Police Service aims to process all permits in a timely fashion, we are under no obligation to approve late applications (received less than 14 days prior to event date). Special considerations or exceptions to the regulations will not be granted.

Tow Truck Permits

Surrey Police Service provides tow truck permits at our Headquarters, located at 14355 57th Avenue Surrey, only.

Please bring the following documents to our front counter to obtain a tow truck permit:

  • Letter from current employer verifying employment
  • Two pieces of valid government ID
  • ICBC driver’s abstract and claims history no older than 30 days
  • Your expired Chauffeurs permit (if applicable)
