Supporting the community with practical crime prevention strategies and connecting with residents at events across Surrey.

Surrey Police Service (SPS) offers a variety of practical community safety strategies to help educate businesses and community groups on practical ways to prevent crime.

Community safety presentations are designed to educate and empower residents, organizations, and groups with practical strategies to prevent and reduce crime across the City of Surrey.

Delivered by the SPS Crime Prevention Unit, these presentations are tailored to the needs of the audience and can cover a range of topics, including personal safety, staff and workplace safety, residential crime prevention, and community-based initiatives such as Block Watch.

Presentations focus on increasing awareness, building confidence, and providing actionable tips that participants can apply in their daily lives, workplaces, and neighbourhoods. Sessions are interactive, informative, and grounded in real-world scenarios to ensure information is accessible and relevant.

Community safety presentations are available to community groups, schools, businesses, and organizations throughout Surrey.

District Pop-up Events

District Pop-Up Events bring officers and crime prevention staff directly into neighbourhoods across the city. These informal, drop-in events provide residents with an opportunity to connect with SPS, ask questions, and access practical safety information close to home.

Pop-ups are hosted at community centres, libraries, shopping areas, festivals, and other local gathering places. They focus on building relationships, increasing awareness of crime prevention programs, and supporting neighbourhood safety.

At a District Pop-Up Event, residents can:

  • Speak directly with SPS members and Crime Prevention volunteers
  • Learn about local crime trends and safety tips
  • Get information on programs such as Block Watch, Project IRIS, and personal safety initiatives
  • Ask questions or raise community safety concerns

By meeting residents where they already are, District Pop-Up Events help strengthen trust, improve accessibility to police services, and support safer, more connected communities throughout Surrey.
