The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over conduct of a homicide investigation in Surrey.

At approximately 9:10 pm on April 8, 2026, Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers responded to assist BCEHS with an injured male in the 9700 block of 134 Street, Surrey. Upon arrival, members located a man apparently suffering from injuries who was receiving treatment from BCEHS. The man was subsequently transported to an area hospital by BCEHS. Despite life saving efforts, the man was subsequently pronounced deceased.

While the investigation is still in its early stages, it appears to be an isolated incident.

IHIT has now taken over the investigation and is working in partnership with SPS to complete priority investigative tasks.

Anyone with information is asked to call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.

As IHIT is now the lead investigative agency, any inquiries should be directed to IHIT.
