A man has been arrested by Surrey Police Service (SPS) following an alleged bank robbery late yesterday afternoon in Surrey’s Newton neighbourhood. 

Shortly after 4:00 pm on April 13, 2026, SPS Frontline officers responded to reports of a bank robbery in the 7100 block of King George Boulevard. The suspect had reportedly left the area on foot. 

With the assistance of the Real Time Intelligence Centre (RTIC), who was monitoring the incident and providing updated information, SPS officers were able to locate a suspect at 70b Avenue and 134 Street. The suspect, an adult male, was arrested without incident, taken into police custody, and potential evidence recovered. 

The man remains in custody and Criminal Code charges have not yet been sworn.
