Surrey Police Service (SPS) is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing 62-year-old man.

Ying Shi was last seen at approximately 7:10 pm on August 24, 2026, in the area of 163 Street and 23A Avenue, Surrey. He was in the area walking and has not been seen or heard from since.

Ying Shi is described as an Asian male, approximately 5’9” tall with a slim build and black hair (see attached photo). He was last seen wearing a dark pullover, light coloured sweatpants, black high-top shoes/boots and clear framed prescription glasses. He was carrying an orange reusable shopping bag. 

Police and family are concerned for his health and well-being.

All attempts to locate Ying have been unsuccessful and police and family are concerned and requesting assistance from the public, media, and social media to assist in locating him. The public should be aware that police are actively searching the area and are requesting home or vehicle owners who have any CCTV or dashcam footage to contact SPS. 

Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Ying Shi is asked to contact 9-1-1 or Surrey Police Service at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 2026-90608 (SP). 

If you see Ying, consider staying with him or keep him in sight until police arrive.
