 Surrey Police Service is advising the public of a collision in the area of 88th Avenue and Nordel Way in Surrey which has resulted in the serious injury to a pedestrian.

On March 5 at 11:24 pm a vehicle struck two pedestrians at the intersection of 88th Avenue and Nordel Way in Surrey. One of the pedestrians, an adult male, was transported to local area hospital in critical condition with life threatening injuries.

The adult male driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the collision and abandoned the vehicle a short distance away from the collision.

SPS officers responded, and the SPS Collision Investigation Unit has been called in to assist. The investigation is in its early stages and is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision.

There is currently a road closure westbound at Nordel Way and 88th Avenue. The closures are expected to last several hours as Collision Investigation Unit, and other officers conduct their investigation.
