File: 26-5510 (SP)

Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating an overnight shots fired incident at a residence in Surrey’s Bear Creek neighbourhood.

At approximately 2:20 am on January 17, 2026, SPS officers responded to reports of shots fired outside a residence in the 8600 block Galway Crescent, Surrey. Upon arrival, police located a residence that had been damaged by gun fire. The residence was occupied at the time and fortunately nobody was injured.

SPS’s Frontline Investigative Support Team (FLIS) have attended and SPS’s Major Crime Section has taken conduct of the investigation. While the investigation is in its early stages and officers may return to the neighbourhood today to search for physical and digital evidence, investigators believe this incident is extortion-related.

SPS is asking anyone with information about this incident, including if you have CCTV or dashcam footage, or who may know the identities of the suspects, to contact SPS’ non-emergency line at 604-599-0502, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca and quote file number 26-5510 (SP).
