Surrey Police Service Investigating Shots Fired in South Surrey

Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating a shots fired incident in South Surrey on the evening of October 8, 2026.
On October 8, 2026, at approximately 6:51 pm, SPS officers responded to a call of shots fired outside a residential complex in the 100 block of 175A Street in South Surrey. Two suspects, described as men wearing dark clothing, reportedly fled on foot and it is unknown if they are connected to any vehicles. The suspects were not located despite police containing and searching the area with the assistance of the Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Service. Police located an individual at the scene they believe was the intended victim, but they were not injured. There have been no reported injuries and it is unknown if there was any property damage.
SPS investigators and Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS) officers will be on scene throughout the night and possibly tomorrow speaking with and canvassing for witnesses, as well as searching for both physical and digital evidence.
There is no indication at this early stage that the incident is extortion related, but it is believed that this was a targeted incident.
