The man arrested on June 12, 2026, in connection to a Surrey Police Service (SPS) investigation into an alleged sexual assault that occurred on June 6, 2026, has now been charged by the British Columbia Prosecution Service. 

Yusuf Mohiadin Ahmed, a 28-year-old male, has been charged with one count of sexual assault contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code. 

Yusuf Ahmed has been released from custody on numerous conditions. His next scheduled court date is June 26, 2026.
