**Patrol Premium

First Class constables and higher ranks assigned to qualifying 24/7 rotations receive a 5% Patrol Premium on regular hours worked.

The Patrol Premium is fully pensionable and is paid in addition to eligible shift differential, acting pay and Field Trainer premiums. It is guaranteed for four years following ratification of the collective agreement.

For an eligible First Class constable, the 5% Patrol Premium has a potential value of approximately $6,977 in 2027, depending on regular hours worked.

Expedited progression program

SPS is currently offering an Expedited Progression program designed to provide eligible new recruits with faster advancement through the constable pay scale during the policing transition. Under the program, eligible members advance directly to Third Class constable upon graduation, skipping the Fourth Class constable pay level during this temporary period. This increases base salary earlier in an officer's career and also increases the value of applicable premiums and overtime that are calculated using base salary.

Based on the current wage structure, the program provides an estimated $33,744 in additional base earnings over progression, excluding overtime.
