Patullo Bridge Closed Due to Fatal Collision

Surrey Police Service is advising the public of a five-vehicle collision on the east end of the Patullo Bridge that has resulted in one fatality and the Patullo Bridge being closed both ways while police investigate the collision.
Just before 8:30 am on January 26, 2025, police were advised by BC EHS of a collision involving five vehicles, including one bus, on the east end of the Patullo Bridge. Surrey Fire Service and BC EHS administered lifesaving measures to one adult female driver, but she passed away on scene. There are injuries to other drivers and passengers involved in the collision, but at this early stage the extent of the injuries is unknown.
Both the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) and the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operational Support Unit Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) have been called in to assist. The investigation is in its early stages and the cause of the collision is unknown.
The Patullo Bridge is currently closed to traffic as police investigate. Road closures and traffic diversions will last throughout the day as officers conduct their investigation.
