There are number of ways to get involved and volunteer with Surrey Police Service (SPS). We recruit volunteers to work with our crime prevention programs that include  Speed Watch, Lock Out Auto Crime, Vacation Watch, the  Stolen Auto Recovery Program, and Project 529 Bike Recovery program. 

SPS volunteers also attend numerous community events where they host information booths, talk to people about public safety, and answer questions.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • 18 years of age
  • Canadian Citizen or permanent resident
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence
  • Successfully pass a Police Information Check  
  • Pass a suitability interview
  • Be reliable and have integrity
  • Attend all training sessions
  • Volunteer a minimum of 16 hours a month for 1 year
  • Complete a six-month probationary period
