Surrey Police Service (SPS) Frontline Investigative Support Unit members are investigating a shooting involving RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) members that occurred near 120 Street and 64 Avenue, Surrey.

On March 11, 2025, at approximately 4:40 pm, RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) officers were in the area of 120 Street and 64 Avenue, Surrey on an unrelated investigation when SPOSU officers had an altercation with an unknown man after he allegedly attempted to steal from the officers. During that altercation, a SPOSU member discharged their service firearm. No SPOSU members or members of the public were injured and SPS’s Frontline Investigative Support Unit (FLIS) is leading the investigation into the incident.

The man was arrested, is currently being held in custody.
