Two people were arrested with the help of the Integrated Police Dog Services (IPDS) and are facing Criminal Code charges after an off-duty Surrey Police Service (SPS) officer spotted a stolen car in the early hours of March 1, 2025.

At approximately 6:00 am on March 1, 2025, an off-duty SPS officer who had recently finished working night shift was in the area of 105 Avenue and 140 Street when they noticed a suspected stolen vehicle that had been reported during their shift parked at a residence in the 10500 block 140 Street, Surrey.

SPS Frontline officers responded and with the help of IPDS, officers were able to arrest two people as they got into the vehicle and tried to drive away.

During a search of the stolen vehicle, officers located and seized a backpack containing approximately 255 grams of suspected cocaine in both powder and rock forms, approximately 24 grams of suspected fentanyl, and approximately 24 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Both suspects were later released from custody on Undertakings to Appear pending further investigation and are facing Criminal Code charges.
