The RCMP Surrey Police Operations Support Unit’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team (SPOSU CCIT), and the Lower Mainland District Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) are investigating a collision near Fraser Highway and 64th Avenue, Surrey

At approximately 11:55 am on April 26, 2025, police received reports from BCEHS of an eight-vehicle collision near Fraser Highway and 64 Avenue, Surrey. Members arrived on scene and observed that a single motor vehicle mounted a curb and struck seven unoccupied parked vehicles. Surrey Fire Service firefighters and BCEHS paramedics attended the scene and despite life-saving medical interventions, a fifty-eight-year-old man died.

SPOSU CCIT has been called in to lead the investigation and ICARS has been called in to support the investigation. At this early stage, the cause of the collision remains unknown, but it is believed that it is due to a medical emergency suffered by the driver.

One lane westbound on Fraser Highway between 64 Avenue and 196 Street is closed. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to find alternate routes and avoid the area.
