Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred shortly after 9:00 pm on February 13, 2026, in Surrey’s Cedar Hills neighbourhood.

At approximately 9:37 pm on February 13, 2026, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle travelling northbound on 128 Street from 96 Avenue. Surrey Fire Services, BCEHS, and SPS Frontline members attended the scene. Despite life saving measures, the pedestrian, a 22-year-old female, sadly succumbed to her injuries. The driver remained at the scene.

SPS’s Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) attended the scene and have assumed conduct of the investigation. At this early stage, impairment may be a contributing cause and the driver was taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation.

Please note that northbound traffic on 128 Street between 96 Avenue and 97 Avenue, along with some side roads and intersections in the immediate area, will likely remain closed for several hours as police examine the scene for evidence. Pedestrians and motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have been driving in the area at the time and be in possession of dashcam footage, is asked to contact the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 25-14813 (SP).
